IT'S WORLD FAIRTRADE DAY TODAY

 

 

The second Saturday in May each year is World Fairtrade day. In 2021 perhaps more than ever, producers, growers, workers and co-operatives trying to work in a fair way to support themselves and their communities need our help to do just hat.

 

The World Fairtrade Organisation is calling for a commitment to #BuildBackFairer. It wants governments to:

• protect workers

• help to restart economies using stimuli and finance

• redesign the trade environment from profit primacy to mission primacy

• create systems which support a fair share of resources.
